Redefining male allyship: the role of men in gender equality
This new workshop/keynote looks to redefine male allyship as something that is also beneficial for men’s lives at home and at work.
We know that breaking down gender stereotypes is good for men too. It’s important, actually essential, for our health, happiness and longevity. And male allyship works towards breaking down those gender stereotypes.
This interactive workshop gives an overview of gender inequalities, explores privilege and looks at the barriers of allyship. We explore the characteristics of a good ally and highlight practical examples of how men can be allies to women in the workplace, at home and in our communities.
This workshop is designed to lay bare some of the stark data around gender inequality and challenge male participants to explore our thought processes and behaviours with the aim of better supporting women and creating a better workplace culture and world for us all.
This workshop/keynote is perfect if you are aiming to:
- engage more men and dads in your parenting and gender networks,
- launch a new male allyship network/group
- engage more men in conversations around gender equality,
- explore some practical actions that men can take to work towards gender equality,
- improve gender equality in your organisation.

Testimonials
We booked Elliott to speak with our Women’s network about ‘Equal Allies’ in support of International Men’s Day. Elliott is an incredible speaker and the event was superb. He made himself available to ensure the content was tailored to our needs and to flex around the constraints we had in place. Elliott is personable, knowledgeable, a brilliant speaker and we would highly recommend him. 5 Stars
JPMorgan Chase’s Women’s Network
We were delighted to welcome Elliott to CBRE for an enlightening session on male allyship and positive masculinity. We have recently started our journey to educate males within our business, and Elliott’s session helped us reach men at all levels of the organisation, from graduates to the boardroom. The power of his knowledge delivered with good humour, honesty and humility was humbling, and really resonated with the 250 colleagues that attended the session. He’s given us lots to think about and work on going forward, and we very much hope to work with Elliot again in the near future.
Andrew Wignall, Male Allies Network lead, CBRE
We wanted to re-launch our men’s group and thought that Elliott would be the perfect person for this. We weren’t wrong. We had 10% of the organisation attend the session, the most ever for any of our men’s group sessions. Colleagues of different genders attended, all of whom were highly engaged and gave positive feedback.
Elliott’s ability to connect on a personal level and get everyone invested in the ideas of gender equality and positive masculinity is incredible and we will continue to follow what he does to help guide how we run our inclusive and progressive men’s group moving forward.
